Hello World!
Before I get into anything, I want to take a moment out of respect for Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and all the others who lost their lives in the plane crash. Losing a loved one can be hard and I cannot begin to imagine what these families are going through. My deepest condolences to all involved. đ˘
As I proceed, I wanted you all to know that I turn 24 tomorrow! Happy Birthday to me! I wanted to talk about the things I am grateful for in my 23rd year of life and I want to talk about the things that I accomplished last year and the things I am looking forward to this year!Â
Here's a list of things I am proud of from my 23rd year:Â
Getting into nursing school
Going to therapy consistently
Taking my medications consistently
Letting my tribe know what was going on with me
Working on saying "no" more ofter
Establishing a stronger bond with my sister
Meeting my step-sibling and establishing a relationship with them
Saying goodbye to relationships that don't serve me/help me grow
I am a Christian, and I am grateful for all God has done for me. Here's a list of things that God has done for me in my 23rd year:
Got me into nursing school
Never let me go withoutAllowed me to gain confidence as a ChristianEncouraged me to chase my dreams
Here are some things I want to work on in my 24th year:
Saying "no"
Putting God first and then myselfÂ
Establishing boundaries
Patience
Listening for God and to God alone
Trusting my intuition
Being okay with falling in love
Putting school first
Putting others needs before my own
My fear of success and what comes afterward
Cleaning my room and keeping it clean
Taking better care of my dog
Going to the gymÂ
Eating better
I am so grateful for seeing another day, more importantly, another year. The things I have learned this year have been mindblowing. After the passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi earlier this year, it made me realize that life is not promised. We need to live every day to the fullest and be appreciative of what we have. I am grateful for God, my family, my friends, and my therapist. I am grateful for this blog, it is my escape from the world, it is a place where I can get my thoughts out there. It is a safe place, and I am glad I have found it. I am glad for all of you, and I appreciate you for joining me on this journey of self-discovery. Thank you for being you! In honor of Kobe Bryant I want to make this year special, I want to push myself, achieve my goals and love like I've never loved before.Â
Another day as an adult (and I'm 24 almost).....damn,
TashaÂ
