Hello World!
No, you didn't miss a part of the love series I skipped the number thirteen because I don't like it. So here we are at fourteen. I wrote a love letter to myself and therapy and I think I am ready to share it. So, here goes nothing!
Hey Gorgeous,
First and foremost, I Love You
Thank you for taking the time out to write this. I know you’ve been busy, I know school and work are important, but you are equally important. Take a minute to breathe. You made it. You freaking made it! I didn’t think we’d make it here kid. I had my doubts, I didn’t know if we could get to where we are and commit to where we are today. Take a moment and reflect on how 2019 has panned out. You got into nursing school, you stuck it out through a whole two semesters of school! And that’s what I love about you! You’re tough (in a good way), you’re resilient, you’re open-minded (at times), you’re brave (at times), and you’re fearless (at times). I love that you love to try. I love that you have such a big heart and have lots of love to give to others. I love the way you value your friends and family. I love how you make time for who you deem is important. I love that you are learning how to say no, and are learning how to set healthy boundaries. I love that you are open to love, whether it is yourself or others. I love your smile. I love your laugh. I love the way you set standards for yourself. Even though it may be hard sometimes you set the bar high and you exceed your expectations time and time again.
I love your laugh. I love the way you tuck your hair behind your ears when you’re trying to think or pay attention to something. I love the fact that you still stick your tongue out when you’re concentrating. I love how you’re taking care of your mind, body, and spirit. I love that you are taking your medications regularly. Going to counseling consistently, and working on reaching out to your tribe. I love that you have a tribe. I love that you feel comfortable and safe enough to reach out to people that love and support you. I love that you are learning to shut down self-doubt or mean comments about yourself. I love that you are learning to love who you are and who you are becoming. I love that you are learning to embrace your body in every size, shape, and form it comes in. I love your transparency and openness. I love that you’re okay with being a role model but not letting the pressure of being one crush you. I love that you’re okay with being a leader. I love that you’re not afraid to ask questions and speak up in class. I love how you’ve worked on your relationship with your mom. I love how you mediate before and after work. I love that you appreciate the still moments in life. I love that you are taking the appropriate time for yourself, like taking time off of work before school or during school breaks. I’m proud of you for setting a set schedule for work so you can focus on school. I love that you are learning to be okay with being loved. It’s okay to let other people do for you what you do for them. It’s okay to be loved and I love that you’re working on that. There are so many things things that I am learning to love about you. You’re doing great kid, keep it up!
Lots of love,
Tasha ❤️
Another day as an adult (who is learning to love herself).....damn,
Tasha
