Hello World,
Today we're gonna talk about my Godmother. Who when asked about which superhero she would be, she answered Superman. Which is fitting and I'll tell you why. She is Superman. She always goes to those in trouble, she is strong for everyone, and she is there when you need her. My aunt loves me and with her, I feel loved, I feel heard, I feel supported, and I feel appreciated.
I think the fondest memory I have of my aunt was when I was in fifth grade getting ready for a school dance. I remember how nervous and excited I was and she was there for me. She did my hair and helped me pick out an outfit for the occasion. I don't know what it is, but in my opinion, there is nothing more connecting than someone doing your hair for you. You laugh, you talk, you catch up, and in this case, you further establish your role as someone your niece looks up to.
My aunt also used to do my relaxers for me when I was younger. I remember how excited I was to go to her house and spend time with her. I would talk and she would listen. That is super important for young people, letting them feel seen and heard, and she did that for me. My aunt is a real-life superhero, she's there for her daughter and there for her family. She shows up even on days when she may be tired. And that is what a real superhero does.
Another day as an adult (who whose aunt is superman)...........damn,
Tasha
Fitting superhero for such a generous spirit
